
Ben Giles commenced his architectural practice in 2008 after twenty years experience with a wide variety of architectural projects and building types throughout Australia and the UK. This experience includes residential projects from individual houses to apartment buildings; mixed-use projects; community facilities; retail centres; medical buildings; commercial office and hospitality fit outs.
After graduating with Honours from UTS in 1995 Ben has gained a broad variety of experience in a number of architectural practices. Most recently Ben was a member of Stockland's design team, as National Manager: Housing and Built Form. Working nationwide for Australia's largest residential developer, this role saw involvement with a wide range of projects.
Whilst employed as an associate at Stanisic Associates, Ben was the project architect for Mondrian apartments, Waterloo NSW that won a number of awards including the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (NSW) Wilkinson Award for Multi-Unit housing in 2003. This then led to involvement with a number of contemporary apartment buildings, many award winning. Ben has supplemented his architectural career with studio-based tutoring at UTS, UNSW and USYD as well as writing on architecture and design for a variety of journals.
