Ben Giles Architect was established in 2008 after twenty years experience with a wide variety of
architectural projects and building types throughout Australia and the
UK. This experience includes residential projects from individual
houses to apartment buildings; mixed-use projects; community facilities;
retail centres; medical buildings; commercial office and hospitality
fit outs.
After graduating with Honours from University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) in 1995 Ben has gained a broad
variety of experience in a number of architectural practices. Prior to commencing practice, Ben was a member of Stockland Design House, as National
Manager: Housing and Built Form, working on a range of national projects.
Whilst an associate at Stanisic Associates, Ben was the project architect for Mondrian apartments, Waterloo NSW that won a number of awards including the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (NSW) Wilkinson Award for Multi-Unit housing in 2003.
Ben has
supplemented his architectural career with studio-based tutoring at
UTS, UNSW and USYD as well as writing on architecture and design for a
variety of journals.
