Randwick house

A home for Helen and Peter, a retired couple who spend much of their time touring Australia. When home they park the 4WD and camping equipment in the garage and enjoy hosting friends and grandchildren.

The west-facing house fronts a busy road where traffic noise is significant. The design turns its back on the road and reorients to the north for light and to the rear for privacy and amenity.

The ground floor main bedroom allows single-level living and enables the owners to age-in-place. The first floor bedrooms and secondary living space for visiting grandchildren are used when required and a lift provides access.

There's also a pool, four bedrooms, a covered BBQ area, garden, high ceilings, privacy, lots of natural light and ventilation.
